February 2021. The end of the long Queensland summer is approaching, except this year it felt different. The soaring heatwaves were replaced by humid afternoons, followed by cicadas and thunderstorms in the evenings. The air smelt of youth and innocence, but the age of the flower children was coming to a close. Do we sit tight and wait for the inevitable, or do we run? The road only went in two directions, so we chose the sun for one more year.
